Good Samaritan Finds $360K in Suspected Cocaine Money in Nigerian Rapper’s Suitcase

A young Nigerian musician said Thursday he plans to give away $600,000 to charity after a good Samaritan reportedly found $360,000 in his friend’s suitcase.

Nollywood news outlet Wowome.com said a Nigerian woman discovered the money in the baggage of Kanayo O. Kanayo, also known as Nigerian rapper Davido, who is competing at this week’s BRIT Awards in London.

“I’m happy that this happened to me and that God allowed it to happen to me and I can start to use it,” the woman, dubbed ‘Bibam’ by Nigerian media, reportedly told a domestic airliner.

“Whatever I can do for me and my family I will do it,” Davido tweeted Thursday.

A lawyer for Davido said his office had not seen the report of the money in the luggage.

“The family are not aware of any claim from the defendants,” lawyer Nonso Anozie said in a statement. “If they are, then we will take a decision as the family involved.”

A representative of Davido could not be reached for comment.

Davido is nominated for two BRIT Awards for his hit “Wyclef Jean.”
